Almond Blossoms

I had a blast doing this one (80x100 in squares w/2 AB), my first JGS kit. Unlike any other kit, I was totally glued to this canvas! It took me 3 months and 2 days to complete, which is what I could spend on much smaller kits up to this point. I loved the confetti and I love the level of detail in the final work. It was so satisfying to see it come together. The contrast between working up the background vs. the subject throughout the whole canvas kept it interesting. I thought the background was a lot of fun to do actually. The quality of the drills, glue and all were great, and all the teals, turquoises, light blues were so nice to work with. I thought the 2 ABs were charted perfectly. They add just a little depth to the buds without really standing out.

Having finished this I think the background at the edges is somehow a little weird (copy/paste-y), and the buds rendered a little differently than I expected, in that there's not much pink in them. I don't know if I compromised that with AB charting (would be fair because the ABs look great) or it was detail that too small to capture (probably this) or what. Overall, I think the final piece looks great. I always liked this artwork and am totally satisfied to have it as a big, detailed, vibrant diamond painting!

I went from this directly to another JGS 80x100 kit w/squares (which is looking great itself!). So yeah, 5 stars!

I enjoyed working on this kit for Summer with the Masters 2023. It came out so much better than I hoped. The confetti adds the dimension and depth of the original. This was my first Jaded Gem Shop kit, but it will definitely not be my last.

My Almond Blossoms kit arrived sooner than I expected and the canvas is gorgeous! I had been looking at this particular kit for many months and figured I would get a smaller version at some point, even though the image wouldn't be quite as clear. When I found out about the Jaded Gemboree sale, I jumped on the largest size available (super great deal, thank you for that)!!! It might be later this year or early next year before I am able to start working on it because I promised some friends I would get other canvases completed for them, but I can't wait to work on this one... it is absolutely beautiful and the drill colors are amazing. I will proudly display it when it is finished!

This was my first JGS finish and it was a great experience. The canvas is a beautiful nice heavy material with soft backing. The drill field crystal clear and the cover a sturdy plastic. The square drills are the absolute best, I was surprised by how good some of the darkest colors ended up being. There were also tons of leftovers.
Most importantly, the rendering is excellent. Jade leaves the confetti in the background so that you can get of sense of the artist's depth of color and transactions. So often in other shops this aspect is over edited leaving us with a flat image that has blobby color transitions.

My initial goal was to get halfway through this large (80 x 100) kit and set it aside for awhile, but it worked up so fast and didn't find myself getting bored with the limited palette and subject matter, that I finished it in about 3 weeks.
